The Human Activity Assistive Technology
System is a guideline that provides a understanding process of assistive
technology in the lives of persons with disabilities. The model is defined as
having elements of human, activity and assistive technology forming a
collective that is nested within a physical, social cultural and environmental
context which shows the dynamic interaction between three factors which are
activity, human and assistive technology. Activities can be broken down into
three different categories which are activities of daily living, work, and
productivity, play and leisure activities. It means what works for one individual
in a particular setting might not be successful for another person. A person
can have multiple roles simultaneously
and roles change throughout a person’s life span; first one must
determine the difference between a person’s skills and abilities. It gives a
dynamic understanding of human abilities and how a person changes and adapts to
his or her engagement in activity in response to the environmental demands, to
determine whether or not if the human behavior is good.
