Glossary of Terms Ch.2


Activity – it gives the brain the information on what he or she can do (cooking)

Assistive Technology System – A person who has a disability and the devices they use (hearing aid)

Contexts – part of the brain that includes your people, activities and visuals (houses)

Extrinsic Enablers – individuals with disabilities (person having a disability)

Function Allocation – things humans and devices use for personal matter (humans and devices)

Human Activity Assistive Technology – a model that include devices, how they function and their skills (daily livings)

Model -  it is picture explaining exactly what topic is about and the items it includes

Life  roles- the way an individual with a disability live on a daily basis and the activities they do.

Occupation – jobs that individuals do to help them earn a living (working)

Occupational Competence – to live a normal life having a disability (visuals)

Performances Ares – activities that individuals do daily (playing)

Tasks – small problems that can be worked on to assist them with their daily activities (jobs)
